چکیده

INSULIN: ITS CHEMISTRY AND PHYSIOLOGY. By Hans F. Jensen. The Commonwealth Fund, New York. 1938, xii + 252 pp. $2. The interest aroused by the isolation and clinical use of insulin has resulted in the accumulation of an enormous literature. While much of this work is of a superficial nature, the task of the student seeking the important and fundamental facts concerning this hormone has not been lightened by its presence in publications dealing with the various biological sciences. The publication of this admirable survey and condensation of the literature by Dr. Jensen is a timely one. This book gives a concise outline of the isolation, chemical and physical properties of insulin, and, furthermore, presents an exceedingly well-documented review of the established facts concerning its physiological action. These are presented not as a series of brief quotations, but are arranged in such a manner that the relationship of insulin to other hormones and to the whole picture of intermediary metabolism stands out in clear relief. The appeal of this book lies not only in its excellent bibliography, but also in its value as an authoritative statement of our present knowledge of the action of this hormone. c. N. H. LONG.

Simultaneous Effect of Resistance Training and Endothelial Ancestral Cell Injection on Expression of MURF1 Muscle Degeneration Factor and Its Relationship with Insulin Resistance In STZ-Induced Diabetic Male Rats

Background: Diabetes disorders can lead to muscular burnout. The aim of this study was to determine the simultaneous effect of resistance training and endothelial stem cell injection on the factor of degeneration in the muscles of diabetic rats. Methods: 36 male wistar rats (age 6 weeks with weight of 20±200g) were randomly divided into five groups of basic healthy, diabetic control (D), diabe...

Simultaneous Effect of Resistance Training and Endothelial Progenitor Cell Injection on the Expression of Vegf Angiogenic Factor and Its Relationship with Insulin Resistance in Diabetic Male Rats Induced By Stz

Background: Exercise and the simultaneous use of progenitor cells is a new strategy aimed for reducing diabetic disorders. One of the known mechanisms is angiogenic disorders caused by diabetes. Therefore, the present study was performed to determine the simultaneous effect of resistance training with endothelial progenitor cell injection on the expression of angiogenic factors in the skeletal ...

Over Expression of FOXO1 in Subcutaneous Fatty Tissue and its Response to Resistance Training in High Fat Diet and Type 2 Diabetic Rat

Objective: Forkhead box proteins and Forkhead box transcription factor O1 (FOXO1) in particular, mediate insulin signaling pathways and glucose homeostasis. This study aimed to compare FOXO1 expression in subcutaneous adipose (SA) tissue between obese rats with and without type 2 diabetes (T2D) and its response to resistance training in T2D. Materials and Methods: 21 male wistar rats (220±20 g...

The Importance of α-CT and Salt bridges in the Formation of Insulin and its Receptor Complex by Computational Simulation

Insulin hormone is an important part of the endocrine system. It contains two polypeptide chains and plays a pivotal role in regulating carbohydrate metabolism. Insulin receptors (IR) located on cell surface interacts with insulin to control the intake of glucose. Although several studies have tried to clarify the interaction between insulin and its receptor, the mechanism of this interaction r...

Insulin Within the Arcuate Nucleus Has Paradoxical Effects on Nociception in Healthy and Diabetic Rats

Broad nervous circuits originate from the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus project to many parts of the brain which are related to pain perception. Insulin receptors have been found in the arcuate nucleus. Since nociception may be affected in type 1 diabetes, the present study aimed to investigate the intra-arcuate nucleus insulin role in pain perception in STZ-induced diabetic and healthy rats. Fo...
